Unsent Letter: 001
May 12, 2024
Dear Mom,
Happy Mother's Day!
I'm in therapy where we talk about my horrible childhood. Your addiction. Even what happened to you in the end. My therapist suggested I write you a letter to tell you how I feel. Say whatever it is I had to say. So, here it goes.
It's been a while, I'm back at work & I'm busy. Wow a lot has been happening. Maya is six months, but this week Bronxton has another concert. Plus Maddie is riding horses. She loves riding. She's so much like you. She's even been riding bareback.
Tonight Maya tried watermelon. And idk if she liked it. But it was exciting to watch her face all the same.
Mom, Maya loves me so much that whenever I drink or think of drinking I feel so guilty. When I look at her, I feel ashamed. Like she has perception, or foresight of my self-destructive ways.
I don't know what my purpose is and even if I had one. I don't care all that much if I don't. But I ended up tossing all of my alcohol, even the bourbon I love. I don't want to let her down, let any of my kids down. They can't lose me at such a young age. At least I was an adult when I lost you.
We're headed to OBX in three weeks. I can't wait to have a vacation. Just myself and all of the kids. Charles will be there with his family.
Work's going well. Larry is still Larry. Therapy is helping me work through that through radical acceptance.
Anyway, running out of steam here. I miss grandpa Loren every day, there are days when I could really use his guidance. I hope when my time is up, I will have made you all proud.
All my love,
Bradley
